It's absolutely beautiful as far as craftmanship and wood choices go... but... I cannot imagine what kind of chore it is to play that thing.

I saw this bass up close a couple of years ago when Alvin showed up at a jam here in New york City. This is just one of many of his amazing pieces, and they sound great too. (Google Alvin's Snake bass). It looks completely real even up close. I almost asked him if animal rights people ever get on his case! He's also a killer bassist besides being a master craftsman.

I played this beast at the first Lefty Bass Day in Duisburg:

It's a fretted 6-string and fretless 5-string Thumb NT, strung reverse, and weighs in at around 11 kgs. Incredible bass, but MAN, is that thing heavy! :shock:
