Hola, and Aloha! Welcome to the board.... What kind of basses do you have? And cabs, amps etc., and music genres that you play/like?

basses: '98 Mexican Fender Jazz in tobacco sunburst (main axe), short scale '85 Squier antique white w/ rosewood fretboard, Dean EAB acoustic (righty in natural finish strung upside down), SX precision copy (full scale black w/ maple neck - just got last week new for only $79 at rondomusic.com.

amps: GK 800RB head w/ 4x10 cab for shows. Peavey Microbass & SansAmp pedal for practice.

I mostly play rock, funk and roots music. groove oriented stuff, mostly in power trio format.

What about you?

How do you like your SX?

I have a SX Jazz that I really like alot. It is LPB with a maple fretboard and I have it strung with Chromes. It had it's first outing this week when I took it to an audition. I am amazed at the quality and playability of such an inexpensive bass.

It's got a few high frets and the nut seems excessively high. But it sounds good and so far it stays in tune. I've never played with flatwounds but am thinking of trying them out on this one. Not sure what brand to get. La Bella's seem popular.
