OK, my dad owns this antique shop in an antique mall outside of Philly and well all sorts of crack heads come through trying to get him to buy stuff from them for quick cash. Well my dad bought this from a dude with about half a set of teeth and my wife brought it home to me. Well anyway I figure there are several of you guys here that I truly trust the knowledge of and opinions of dealing with the vintage basses of all sorts so the only thing I can gather from poking around the internet and the headstock is that it is a “Global” and most likely from the late 60’s or 70’s. It’s all original except a few of the smaller screws on the tuners are newer and the strings of course. There used to be some sort of ash tray over the bridge and that’s gone but I plugged it in and the jack is a little shaky and should be replaced if someone is going to play it on a regular basis but I think it’s in over all decent shape for its age. Anybody here have any insight to its age? Worth?

this has a lot of that 70's cheap Asian knock-off vibe to it

- Plywood body with Mahogany veneer top/back
- Phillippine Mahogany neck
- Kluson knock-off tuners

I'm going to guess you'd be fortunate to get $150US for it due to it being in good condition ... but then I haven't inspected the neck, so this could be too high if there's issues with its (or if this doesn't have a) trussrod

all the best,

R

ya I had the same EXACT unit down to the color but it said Scott on the headstock....

I don't have an original pic of it, but here it is a little modded after a pup swap and sanding:

Kinda sounds cool like wooly bluesy type of old school tone. Thick and bassy...Yes it has a truss rod I turned it 3/4 but needs a little more but I didn't want to over do it all at once. It's on eBay..
