OK, so I freaking love this guy and his band..Was the best concert I saw all year. Opened for David Gray and well I can't remember one song David's band played but oh my this guy and his band was so tasty. So here is my thing normaly I hate hollow basses and their tone but this girl and here rig and the whole thing sounds amazing IMO. Anyone here know what the heck kind of bass she is playing? I know here rig is SWR....

This is my favorite type of bass sound. It looks like a Kay but it is not one. Foam under the bridge, Flatwound strings, Neck Pickup only, Hollow body bass = Funk!
I had a Rogue VB100 that sounded pretty much like it but the stuff couldn't stay in tune 5 minutes. Those Eastwood Airline Map basses like some of us recently got would be perfect for it.

Wow, it's vintage and a hollow body...I guess I got to eat my own words. That tone is like the way bacon smells..That tone rules in that setting. I couldn't imagine a better tone for that. That's something I wish I could capture..I'm so heavy handed I sound like a drunk monkey sometimes
