I think these were featured in video's by Scott's Bass Lessons and Davie504, which brought them quite some attention.

Jeroen, thanks for the links... the guitar page comes up with all pictures and info... but the bass link - at least for me (in Safari) - isn't showing pictures, and most of the basses seem to be out of stock...

KLOS is another carbon fiber maker I mentioned a while ago, and they do offer a bass too. Click on instruments - electric - bass)

Although this is an alternative, I like the fact that this is a true "collapsible" travel bass....
