Not a lefty, but he's a great bassist. The book is funny and self-deprecating, with stories of playing with Pink Floyd, Bryan Ferry, Madonna, and others. He's in Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets--he's not a shabby singer either.

Worth a read if you haven't read it already.
