No, not in the figurative sense, (like my '72 Fender J) I'm talking about a real honest to goodness, living, breathing little boy. Please welcome into the world Devon McCulloch, born on 03/21 at 9:01am and weighing in at 7.5lbs. It's too soon to tell whether or not he favors the left or right hand but if he turns lefty there will be a few basses waiting for him. (I know I'm gonna regret that remark when I find him finger painting my '72!).

Thanks guys, and good luck Austin. If you need any tips on how to manage time with a newborn around, let me know. I have a 1-1/2 year old daughter as well, and if there's anything I can say about having kids it's that it's forced me to get organized pretty quickly. I'm pretty much on a schedule for anything I want to do, from bass practicing to typing e-mails, and that schedule has obviously been dictated by the kids. But it's worked out pretty well so far. I'm a night owl, so 1am-2am I'm up either practicing or managing my fantasy baseball team, LOL.

Hey congrats, Austin. So tell me, are you getting any sleep yet after the first week, LOL? My son is finally accepting a pacifier as of yesterday, and believe me he's been 100 times calmer since. I'm working the graveyard babysitting shift from 10:30am - 2:00am (being a club-playing musician pays when you need to do babysitting till 2am; no problem for me), which gives my wife at least 4 hours of sleep before she needs to nurse him.

He's doing good, been on pacifier since Day 2, he's pretty mellow. Day 5 evening was tuff, he just wanted to scream, but got over it eventually.

The boy went to his first Eggmen gig(outside the womb, of course), last night at The Oasis here in Austin. Handled it well.
Here he is:

That baby can play a Ric already?!?

He's going to be stealing your gigs from you. ;)
