I have this same control lay-out on my Carvin DC727 7-string guitar and I love it. On mine, the controls are volume (push-pull for active-passive), passive tone (only on in passive mode) and active bass and treble boost/cut (only on in active mode). The switches are a pickup selector (the big one, obviously), a coil split for each pickup separately, and the bottom one is a phase switch. It is immensely versatile and the active EQ is a great and very musical addition that seemed excessive to have on a guitar at first, but actually works great. I love that guitar!

In surprisingly good shape for a twenty-nine year old bass... good price too.

That one is a LB70 (4 String) not a LB75 as listed.

The pickups on both the basses in question date them at around 1988-89. I used to have a 1989 LB70, but didn’t keep it long... IMO the H13B stacked humbuckers have always been a bit of a weak pickup (probably why Carvin only used them for a couple years). The Kahler tremelo bridge looked cool- but for me it was superfluous, I really never used it.

But then- I got this 1990 LB70 (in 1990 Carvin introduced the H50B stacked humbuckers- they're a much better match with the A500 active electronics) and I absolutely love the sound of this bass! The deep pearl blue metallic finish w/ gold hardware combination is still a beautiful look.
