I love the description.... “a few cracks”..... must have been a heck of a gig! I’d hate to see the other guy :D . Maybe someone was doing a Clash covers set and got carried away?

$5000 for a bass cracked down the middle? Keep dreaming. I was gonna say if the price was reasonable (Like well under $2000) it might be worth it, but not at 5k.

I bet it fell off from the wall hanger or strap.

I bet a dollar it got crushed in freight. The knobs are pushed in (cracked) and the wing damaged. Thats crushed. All repairable but the price is ridiculous. Bent original tuner and I see a replacement tuner on the E string.

Keep dreaming buddy!!

I think you're on the right track here... the crack between the top laminate, and the body seems to suggest "major" force applied; as if a wheel of some type rolled over it, curved the the body as it rolled over it, and the force de-laminated the glue... as to the bottom-to-top crack, if you look on the back of the bass, and specifically the control cover screws, you'll notice how the crack runs right under both screws... again, severe pressure forced the crack to follow the path of least resistance, and the screw holes provided an easy break point...

Yes, it's an Alembic, and a signature model, but the woodworking/luthier skills needed to bring this bass back to an almost pristine, never been damaged look, in my opinion, could easily surpass the $1000 mark, and most probably head North of $2000... unless you're Paulo of course, and he could probably do it it for $200!

$1000-$1500 tops?

Listing ended. Wonder if it sold.

I'm not really into the the heavy relic'd look but I liked this one.
