Comparing to the one I had I can tell the pickguard and pickup are not original but it's not a big deal for this bass I guess.

Haven't seen one of these for sale in a long time.

I'm not a fan, unfortunately. The Mustangs were much better IMO.

I always seen this line but really what make's the musicmaster bass a "simplified" version.

"Musicmaster Bass is a simplified version of the Mustang Bass."

To be honest, not sure how much more simplified you can get?

I heard those actually had 6 pole guitar pickups under the cover that were pretty weak on a bass.

They used the same pickups used on their Stratocaster guitars.

No separate control plate, simpler 2-saddle bridge, simpler tuners (on early models), simpler electronics, Strat-pickup. It really was the Squier of its day.

Built like tanks too! Really fun to play when they have real pickups in them.

Absolutely! I played a lefty Musicmaster and a Mustang once and both were a ton of fun to play. I especially liked the Mustang with its solid thump. Those splitcoils sound fantastic!
