It's really hard to find info or videos about this bass online but here's the seller description:
The solid-built Neck-through (mine is a set neck) construction, Brass nut and tonal options are just the start, for this Carvin LB50BE. The Schaller tuners keep your strings in tune, as they make their way through the tone-punching Brass Nut, and down that gorgeous Ebony fretboard all the way down to the dual humbuckers and bridge.
Did we mention tonal options? Two Carvin designed humbuckers, hook up to a 3-way switch, but it doesnt end there. This Black-Beauty is loaded up with two Coil-Tap Switches, to maximize your possibilities. Could it get better? Yes, with the added phase switch, there's quite literally nothing you couldn't do with this bass...... except sound bad playing it.
The seller didn't mentioned but it also has a stereo output just like the Rickenbackers.

I doubt the lefty production numbers were high back then, and the folks who still have one aren't letting go of them very often. These were the first lefty Carvins I ever saw back in the day, and my favorite era of passive Carvin basses- you gotta love all the switching options. I still have a black LB50, and a very unusual/rare LB60 which is a more upscale version with factory options like gold hardware and bartolini pickups, and cut from a beautiful piece of wood! I also used to have a solid red one I sold to pjmuck... man I still miss that bass...maybe Peter will post a pic!

shock: That LB60 is absolutely stunning. Gorgeous birdseye. Never seen a lefty before. Do the Barts have a significant tonal difference than the LB50 PUPs? I know some people have mentioned that with the original's guitar-like PUPs the strings don't sit perfectly over the poles, but honestly I've never encountered any output issues on mine.

Yep, I still have your red one. It gets played just about every weekend in my cover band, but not in the traditional sense. I use it as my midi bass controller for bass synth songs we do (i.e. Styx: Too Much Time, Genesis: ABACAB, A-Ha: Take on Me, etc). It is currently strung with D'Addario piccolo bass strings (which significantly help the latency of the pitch-to-midi synth playability), and the Roland GK-3B PUP attached. But having that stereo output capability has really expanded the possibilities too:

Wow beautiful basses, thanks for sharing, Carmine and pjmuck!
I recently got one from our friend Bill and I like it a lot.
