Geez, I'm seeing double... oh wait - it IS an 8-string! Don't think it's worth more than a 100-bucks in that condition... Only Paulo, or Blablas could bring this back from the dead.... :)

Sooner or later our board member Malfunct8 may pop up and give us details about this bass, but as I know him, this should be a fun bass for someone who would want to try a 8 string bass at a really good price.
He said the neck is a Warmoth so the neck alone should be worth $300 easy and as mentioned before it was done by a pro.

There's nothing wrong with the rug. It looks nice enough. Just, I have to say, a very poor choice of background for this particular instrument :P
