This might be a great deal for someone willing to do a little handy work. Seller says sound's cutting out on occasion and I suspect it's either dead batteries or a loose wire somewhere.

Very tempting... does anyone know if these are built with left hand bracing?

It's X-braced, not righty or lefty specific. And no truss rod.

You can read my lengthy review here:

Mine took a lot of work to get it playable, and eventually I just defretted it. I love it now. So at $50 if you were entertaining owning a Uke bass, this would be a fraction of the cost of a Kala or other brand. Just be prepared to do some mods.

Congrats! Heck of a price. Hope it needs minimal fixing. :)

FYI with mine I had to loosen the strings and adjust / make better connection with the piezo thingy under the saddle. That fixed an inconsistent volume issue across the strings. No problems since then! I hope any issues you might have are as easy a fix as that! (There's a string on the site about my issue, too lazy to find it now...)

Yeah guys, shipping is included... got a tracking # that it was shipping within just a couple of hours of paying for it... coming by way of US Parcel Post, so it's going to take several weeks. But I figure it's worth the gamble; I'm sure I can fix its issues, and have a player, or, make it sell-able....

I did find your thread, and re-read it... partly the reason I decided to buy this! I'll keep y'all posted on what it took to bring it back from the "dead"... electrically, that is... ;)

Received this bass on Monday, thought the batteries were dead, so bought new ones (two 2032's...) put them in - no sound - so reversed them, and got sound. So far, I haven't had any of the problems the seller described, eq works fine, and intonation is good. The E-string nut slot is a bit shallow, so the string pops out with hard playing, but a quick filing will take care of that. All-in-all, and so far, I'm happy with this purchase. Considering I bought this for $61, and the seller spent $20 on shipping, this is a great deal! I need to play it for a solid hour or so, to see if any problems arise, but so far, I'm happy with it...
