Just curious if anyone here has played one of the Warwick Star basses. I'd love to get a semi-hollow someday, and these are the top of the list for me.

I've got a RockBass version 5 string, they sound more modern than you might expect!

Thanks, blablas! The Asian-made ones seem to be excellent values, and that's probably the way I'd go. I wouldn't say modern would be my goal in playing a semi-hollow, but it's nice to know it wouldn't sound dead :)

Absolutely not dead, the pickups are huge single coils and have that single coil bite, they are nowhere near close to mudbuckers that are mostly found on this type of hollow body bass. I hate the mudbucker sound!
