Very good price, it seems! Too bad it says "cash on collection" only.

Ad says "all original parts" but that's not the original pickguard. Seems a bit too white to be a '78 too. Possibly a refin.

Neither of which are deal breakers to it being a good player for the price, just not a wholly accurate sales ad.

That white doesn't look as old and yellowed as it should be, but who knows??
Overall, really nice bass, even better with the rosewood board!

Something I always look for is the truss rod screw, I don’t like not being able to see it. The more screwed in the less room for straightening adjustments if needed.
Good price, bad description, rosewood is bomb, truss rod hmmmm, you better truss it works :?

I agree it's hard to believe that paint job is 40 years old.

I guess stranger things have happened, though. It could have sat in the case never seeing sunlight for that long.

Does the wear on the headstock really match the wear on the body, though? The body is so pristine where did that damage come from?

Got some more details from the seller. Who the hell would refinished a 40 year old body

...
I'm sorry to say it's cash & collect only. This is to verify it's authenticity & condition & playability. Yes the body has been professionally refinished & is in an unmarked condition.

The pickguard also is not original.
It doesn't have the holes for the thumb rest, it's too thin between the input jack, pointy at the lower horn and looks too new.

I noticed it was VERY white, but I thought nothing of it. Now that you guys mention it, I should have noticed the refin and pickguard myself! Still, not bad for the money :)
