Nice!!! The grain matches well ( unlike mine -heh), and the pickguard isn’t knackered.... awesome

The strings look pretty misaligned, especially the E, but I wonder if it's easily corrected with the proper saddle angle.

Agreed. Would love to see your collection, Paulo :)

Looks like it may have been strung in reverse- big space around the G string at the nut...

Paulo, is that the pick guard you made from the template I sent you? If so, it came out perfect! Bass looks great too!

That's not my bass, this is someone in CL at least a couple hundred miles away from Boston!

Looks like the best way to align the strings, would be to level them up, and slightly slant them towards the G-string side... The barrel under the E-string is slanting away from the A-string...

OK, just saw the link to the Craigslist add... didn't think you could have gotten the guard done so quickly... BUT, You're "Paulo"... Anything is possible with you, lol!

I wish I was that fast!
I will have to bring this template to be done by a pro.
Funny thing is, my ATK has the EXACT same problem at the nut, as a matter fact mine is sent out for a new nut to be cut for it.
The G string slot is way too thick and the D string slot buzzes a lot.
Funny thing was, the nut was never removed to be flipped over.
Here's a picture of mine:

Looks like the slots were cut to string it right handed at some point....

Factory probably used nut blanks produced with guide slots for right-hand string order. Every guide slot can work for left hand except the widest for the "E", which now carries a "G".

Classic shouldered nut can't be flipped. Manufacturers who want easy/cheaper left hand production should change to flat profile nut in slot design - then you do just flip the nut around.

They came that way from the factory. I had a brand new old stock one, nut was the same, played fine, no buzz.
