A new lefty for 2018! The originals from the 60's are super cool and unique, so hopefully Mike's version is true to the original. Features a fat humbucker at the neck position and a piezo at the bridge. The originals were well-respected for their fat thumpy, short sustain tone. They also had golfball-sized holes routed out of the back of the bass too to make it lightweight and to give it a more hollow bodied upright tone.

Pretty cool. Anyone else really want to give 26.5' scale a try?

After playing a Kala U-Bass, this would be a breeze! Here's a video of a 1964 model... has a Hofner vibe to it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3gH0bJKuk

And this... just play the effing thing! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We9LjAAZmo0

That looks like a photo of an actual vintage pocket bass to me, not the Eastwood version. Guess they haven't actually made any yet?

That's what they always do when gauging interest :)
Early December, they posted this photo of an actual Telestar doubleneck with two Eastwood logo's photoshopped onto the headstocks.

Hopefully Mike will take my advice and upgrade their hardware to Hipshot. I couldn't play my new telecaster until
I replaced the tuners because it simply wouldn't stay in tune. After the replacement with locking Hipshots, the guitar
stays in tune. For a $599 market - think Mexican Fenders - the guitars need to stay in tune.

Now I just have to learn no to press down so flipping hard on the strings.

Yep I know- and while I do like a lot of what Eastwood has done, I generally have to withhold judgement on their stuff until I see the actual finished product. I view their versions as more or less a "suggestion" of the original design, using generic materials/ components that often lack the unique character and sonic qualities of the original instrument. Some of their modifcations work for me, some have been disappointing.
