Saw this earlier. Super cool looking! Wonder what the quality is like?

It's an old Matsumoku production Westone, so probably as good as any high-end neck-through MIJ instrument from that era (Aria SB came from the same line, for example). There's a fretless Thunder I (bolt-on) for sale locally near me at a steal. The only thing holding me back is the body shape. I have never liked those short stubby horns!

I had a more basic 5 - string Westone back in the day that I strung upside down. I'd describe it as a slightly better Ibanez than an Ibanez you'd get in the same price range - nice tones, easy playing neck, well made and with a powerful low B. I'd say this Thunder is probably an excellent bass and the double P should give some interesting tones. If you don't like the stock pickups, the build quality of the Westones was good enough that you could easily upgrade and have a pretty unique instrument.

Westone also made the Railbass - the pickups slid along a rail so you could set them anywhere along the body, which was basically a framework holding the rails. No idea how they sounded or if they made a lefty, but it was a cool idea.
