If anyone is interested the price on the Low End website is $1499. ($200 less than the reverb price)

Does anyone know when they had the huge jump in weight? Was it 75? In short when did the P bass turn into a boat anchor?

I have this same bass in original black finish. 5 Jan 73 same neck stamp as this one. The neck is nice but a little on the chunky side at the nut compared to a 78 P bass but still very comfortable.

Not sure. My '73 weighs 8.4 lbs. But guessing the weight based on year sounds like a crap shoot, per this TB thread:
