Very cool. Good price including shipping. These don't turn up for sale very often.

I'd love to find one of these in sunburst.

What is the experience like buying from Japan? I see these cool basses all the time, but all the eBay warnings about extra fees, delays, etc., have always turned me off. But I've been looking for a midtown for years, and may be willing to roll the dice on this one...anyone have an experience they can share? Are there real delays and extra fees, etc.? Any recommendations on what to watch out for?

Paulo has bought one or two. I'm sure he'll chime in shortly.

My int'l experience is limited to a Sire from Thomann (easy and successful).

I’ve bought a couple from Japan, but it was the better part of 10 years ago. It went smoothly but I haven’t had any recent experience with the CITES stuff and all.

I bought a 75RI JB from Japan and the Aerodyne from Reverb, both basses where well packed and arrived in less than a week!
The 75RI JB had rosewood board and the Aerodyne had ebony, both made here with no problem at all.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! Leaning in that direction, stay tuned. EDIT: both sold...you snooze, you lose! Same thing happened to me the last time I found one....it was an import and while I was second guessing shipping, etc., it sold. Why can't I find one in the US!?!?!

Thanks for all the thoughts, I'll jump on it faster next time one comes up...in 5 years. :(

Just a re-enforcement of Paulo's comment. I also purchased a few basses from Japan (Ebay store who had many international sales) and it arrived in a week very well packed. Suggest check ebay ratings to ensure they have good international feedback.
