Daisy Rock appears to be out of business now. I remember they also made butterfly shaped and star shaped basses too. don't recall if they were ever made lefty though.

I most definitely would play that thing in my metal band if I had one. I'd have our guitarists pick up a Squier Hello Kitty Strat with some brutal humbucker, it would be hilarious. Imagine showing up with a Coffin Case with that thing inside

Ha! Funny you should say that. A few years ago a very good guitar player that was a regular at one of my blues jams showed up with a Hello Kitty Start and tore it up just to make a point. He got just about as good a sound out it as he did with his top of the line guitars and better than a number of the other guitar players with their go to guitars. It was great! Had a lot of people shaking their heads.

Just goes to show; it's not the instrument, it's the player - every time!
