Would seem to me to be a fairly rare piece if everything is correct for 1960. Lollipop tuners, matching headstock, nice patina. Pretty cool!

'66 or '67 I believe is the first year for those basses.

Yeah I'm not up on these. The listings from Japan seem to be light on correct info and details. Pictures don't show the serial number. The lollipop tuners are usually seen on mid 60's basses, so that matches your dating Matt. Thanks for the info!

Agreed! Short scale basses aren't my thing, but I'm drawn to the appearance of this one. Best I remember seeing. As I said I'm not up on these so I don't know about the price, but if I was looking for one I think it would be hard to expect to find one much better.
But I certainly could be wrong.

Agreed. You can see brush strokes on the headstock, and there appears to be a lighter blue under the finish in the 1st pic of the body.
