This is one sweet bass. It's new, it's top of the line, and it's real expensive .... They're asking $8800.

Jim Rubio, Owner of Atlanta Bass Gallery Rules! The guy is the coolest and will work with you on prices. I purchased 3 basses from him in the past. Great guy and recommended. Oh, the Stanley Alembic is BEAUTIFUL. 8k is a lot of dough. Wanna buy a Wal Mk II? I am selling mine for a few grand cheaper. Pics going up soon.

That's a very nice bass but I generally am not a 4 string player. I prefer 5 and occasional 6. It's a nice piece tho! An old jalopy ain't gonna move my heavy gear all over the place... Don't give me a GAS attack over here AzWhoFan.

Eight grand for any current production electric bass is too much. I know there are those that will disagree, but damn it goes boom, boom, boom.

Not at all, $8k is absurd! Of course it is my opinion that any (non-vintage/fame) production line, solidbody instrument is worth no more than $2500 period! If a person pays more than that then they are buying something other than the instrument.

It was actually closer to 9K ( $8800.oo). And in this case you ARE paying for the priviledge of having Mr. Wickersham & Co. build you a bass in the overly-taxed-and-EPA-regulated state of Cali.

Not to mention you're building up his 401K at the same time LOL

Another vote for Jim Rubio. Nice guy that will work with you, and he always tries to stock some nice lefties.

Man, I wouldn't play an Alembic if they gave me one for free. Never liked either their sound or looks, although I can appreciate the level of craftmanship.

Jimmy Johnson does sound nice on one, but I was never a fan of Stanley's sound with the neck pickup dialed in.
