Actually I kinda jumped at it. Put it on Affirm for the payments. I've been looking for one of these in this color FOREVER, and to find one under $2k US has been next to impossible for me.

Seriously, Affirm is a godsend and a curse. It makes stuff so affordable, but at the same time it's like having a credit card with a sky-high limit. Dangerous stuff!

That said, $1700 is a small price to pay to make a dream come true, if you ask me.

I should also mention that the dude is putting a new Rickenbacker nut in and restringing it lefty again before he ships it. I've had a ton of questions for this guy, and we've been shooting the breeze back and forth the past couple days. A+ seller and a super friendly guy. Can't wait to leave him a sparkling review. (or to play this thing!)

EDIT: He also has this gorgeous Wal Bass for sale, if you have rich enough blood...

Rickenbackers rule, man!

Do you run stereo?

I aim to, eventually! Right now I've got an Orange Crush 50BXT. I'm hoping to add another combo to the collection soon. I don't know if I put the cart before the horse or what by buying a Rick before I had a second decent amp (cabs are actually way out of my budget right now, haha) but I couldn't let this one pass me by. I knew I'd regret it if I did.

Nah, you don't need a stereo setup to make a Rick sound good (I do, but that's just me ). Most people run mono.

He restrung it for me last night, and sent me these. He threw in two packs of Rick strings. What a legend. He doesn't think he has the pickup cover anymore, but I was gonna remove it, anyway. Ordering a chrome bezel this week. I can't believe I own this thing. I can't wait to plug it in. I can't wait to tear open the shipping box. I feel like a kid waiting for Santa, haha.

That is killer, man. That makes me want to plug in my Rick again!

People use all different brands of strings for Ricks. A lot of people say Rotosounds are lousy and die quick (and I tend to agree), and they have a lot of recommended alternatives, but I have yet to find a set that makes my Rick sing like a set of good ol' Swing 66.

I personally like this bezel:

Yeah, it's over-priced, but it fits like a glove and feels great. Is that the kind you are getting? I didn't know they are made in chrome until I just now looked.

Yeah, that's the same. Chris is great to deal with, too.

Man if I ever buy a Ricky again, it'll probably be this color. Congrats, that's a rad score at a decent price. 8-)

UPS dropped it off a couple hours ago. Two words: Blown Away. I'll get photos up in the gallery soon. Total dream come true...

Needs a few things. Chrome standard treble bezel is in the mail (thumbrest out of stock but I like resting my thumb on the pickup surround, anyway) and to lower the strings closer to the fretboard. Little high for my liking but overall I can't believe this thing. Plugged it into the little Esteban 10w practice amp I keep at work and plucked the E string. Thought I was gonna burn it out, haha.

I think we can safely mark this one "sold"!

Heads up for anyone looking for one - he has a Mapleglo going up soon. I'll be sure to post it when he does!
