I actually have one of these in this exact year and colour. I love it. I have the passive Geezer Butler EMG P/U's in it and Hipshot hardware but even when it was all stock it was great. One of my main players.

If I recall, I paid $800 USD from a shop in Berkeley, MI almost 3 years ago. This is indeed a fair price.

But.... if I was in the market for another one of these, I would buy the sunburst one that a board member here has for sale at $600 first.

Just pulled the trigger on this one. Thanks for the tip Paulo. I had a sunburst 2000 that I really liked so I'm hoping this one is as good. The same seller also has a 97 Am. P and a MM Stingray for sale for $800. each. Not a bad price for the Stingray if anyone is interested.

Cool! Congrats and tel us know how it is!
I haven't seen any listing for the stingray, what is the finish on it?
