I've seen it too, and I was quite surprised at how affordable that bass is.
Currently, there's also an almost identical '76 listing:

This one comes with a righty case though.

Yea, someone listed on ebay a older Fender P bass with right handed case and said it was the original case. This is proof Fender did make the left handed case back then. Too bad their were not more of these cases in production and in good condition. I would love to own one of these cases.

I'm not so sure that Fender always shipped lefties in true lefty cases though. My '72 J came with a righty case and was supposedly shipped that way stock from Fender, but who knows.

Yup, Fender is known for doing odd things with Lefty basses and guitars.. like using necks that were newer or older than the body, etc. NOS (new old stock). They did not get very many lefty orders and even more rare to find these basses in the early years. All in all, I think the prices on older Fender bases are off the hook for the 70's era. Now 60's era.... now were talking. ;)

Yep, my "75 Precision is in an original lefty case.
