I thought the whole point of these '08 Fenders was the various upgrades (i.e. bridge, tuners, feel, etc), making it, "The best Fender made in years". So what was wrong with the tuners and pickups that the seller felt they needed to upgrade?

I don't like the new tuners Fender is using. To me they look and feel cheap, and I just wanted to throw those DiMarzios in because I wanted a Jazz with humbuckers 8-)

YOU didn't like the tuners and wanted to throw DiMarzios in? Identity revealed. ;)

Didn't mean to sound judgmental, Matt. I'm just trying to get some insight into these new basses, since everyone's been raving about them and I haven't tried any yet.

Did you sell your Club bass privately Matt, or change your mind about selling it?

Hey, Matt, would you be willing to sell the neck only? Unlikely, I understand, but I just thought I'd ask. I have an early 70's ash P-bass body and I'm looking for a J neck. Thanks.

The neck wouldn't fit anyway. I have a 70s fretless pbass neck and I went to fit it in the pocket of my 08 precision and it is shaped differently. Assuming the neck pockets of modern jazz and pbass are the same, this wouldn't work out for you anyhow.

D'oh! Good to know.

I have a '96 P-neck that fits a '74 body well. Then I installed an '87 MIJ Jazz neck into the '74 body and that worked, too (I had to raise the strings a bit, tho).

What are you going to do with that f'less P neck? I've got a body, you've got a neck... too bad we don't live close enough to make a community bass. That thing would kill. :)

Or I could help you finance that Ray. 8-)
