please, someone on this board buy this so I can buy it from you when you're sick of it. I doubt this will last very long at all.

Is that a DJ? :| The bodyshape seems a bit 'off'.

Looks more like a JO5 with some custom options. The DJ5 was never made in a lefthanded version AFAIK, only the USA DJ4.

hey, I'm just the messenger! I'm not intimate with the differences in Lakland models.

But I have some great stories about Danny Lakland fom 12 years ago when I lived in Chicago LOL

Actually, I snagged it.....
It is exactly what I have been looking for and the color is also what I have been looking for. I wanted a fiesta red Fender Jazz, but this might just do the trick and I am generally a 5 string 35" scale player.
Thanks AzWhoFan for the heads up. I saw it on ebay and looked here... there it was. damn were fast. I'll post the info when I get it. I hope its a good one.

Congrats gravebass, I'm really glad someone on here got it.

All I ask is that I'm the 1st person you call when you get tired of it ;) (like that'll ever happen!!!)

LOL..... well, as fast as I go thru basses, it might be up again at a later date. I no longer own a Jazz bass and hopefully this was a catch. I dont usually take a chance like this. It is not a Darryl Jones or Joe Osborn (model unknown). I believe it's an older Lakland but wont know until I get it with the serial number info. Its definitely got some upgrades and hopefully from the factory.

Nice score, gravesbass!

You might have somethin special, there. You certanly won't lose money on it, imo. Could very well be a custom build.

Well, I don't have it yet so no excitement coming from here. Confirmed.... it is a JO5 (Joe Osborn) Model Custom. It has the upgraded neck and electronics. All factory built (from what I get). I talked to Lakland yesterday and they did do the block inlays on the JO's per customer request. Sounds like this originally was a custom order. I wonder who was the original owner.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is another one of Chew's old basses. He has a penchant for Lakland and Modulus.

In some other thread I think Andrew mentions that there were only 3 lefty JO's ever made. I believe he and someone else on this board have the other two. So maybe a mystery has been solved. That would be too cool!!

I think Andrew simply said there's only 3 that he knows about. Well, 4 now. :D

I have one. It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. ;)

Yup, I was also think Chris Chew. His basses seem to get around. I'll ping him after I receive it. He is more of a bass whore than me. He is endorsed with Lakland currently. After all the wait and wanting a Lakland, it better be the s**t.

Hey TBB..... Not yet... Still in transit. I'll post a pic after I get it. Fingers crossed everything is good. I already had a custom black pickguard made from the guys who make the Lakland pickguards. Its awaiting the bass now.

Got the bass... took it completely apart and cleaned the hell outta her. Polished the finish and XXXX steel wooled the neck and slight binding. String height, intonated perfect. Confirmed it was originally custom ordered by Chris Chew.. I knew it! He loves Lakland basses. The binding and block inlays option is an upcharge and not normally done on JO models unless requested.

Oh my, the bass is a really night piece of firewood. I'll post a few pics once I get my pickguards back. I had to have them recut for proper fiting. I got a black and clear pickguard coming. The bass looks killer without a pickguard so figured clear would be nice.

Good catch and thx to AzWhoFan for giving me the GAS attack and making me push that damn button sooner than I wanted to. :o

Congrats! I would have snagged it if I hadn't just bought a brand new Rickenbacker 4003 and a G&L SB-2.

Got the pickguards in. Bass is now setup and playing great. I have a ground buzz, but that's all I need to fix. Here's a shot with the clear pickguard.
