Dear lord that description. You can make this stuff up..

"SAY THERE,I'VE OWNED ABOUT 187 GUITARS IN MY 50 YEARS OF PLAYING,I'M SELF TAUGHT & I LEARNED UPSIDE DOWN,WHICH IS A HUGE HANDICAP,AND I USED TO PLAY LEAD,LOL ,THEN RYTHUM,LOL,,THEN LANDED ON THE BASS AND STAYED THERE ! I GOT 'B-Sst' INTO GETTING A HEAVY ROCK BAND GOING,THE GUY WAS FULL OF 'IT',SO I BOUGHT A CARVIN BX5500 HALF STACK 1600 WATTS,MANY OTHER ITEMS ,AND THIS 'ALL MAPLE' BEAUTY OF A 'LEFTY' FENDER SQUIRE BASS AND FENDER CASE,WITH A EXTRA SET OF STRINGS,STRAP,ALLEN WRENCHS,AND LEARNED A COUPLE OF TUNES THAT THEE "LIAR" TOLD ME TO LEARN & HE'S BEEN 'ALL TALK' EVER SINCE,,SO THEE QUALITY OF THIS GUITAR "LACKS NOTHING AS FAR AS THE FENDER NAME GOES" THIS GUITAR IS MADE EXACTLY TO THE SPEC.'S AND QUALITY OF FENDER GUITAR & AMP CO. EXCEPT THAT IT'S MADE IN A COUNTRY WITH SUPPER LOW 'WAGES', HENCE 'THEE SAVINGS',THE CASE LATCHS AND PICK UPS ON THE BASS 'STILL HAVE THE PROTECTIVE PLASTIC ON THEM,I ONLY USED THE BAS FOR MABEY 2 HOURS ,TO LEARN THOSE SONGS, "BOTH BASS & CASE" ARE LIKE NEW 'NOT A SCRATCH' ON ANYTHING, ALSO ANY FUNNY OR STRANGE LOOKING MARKS ON GUITAR ARE 'NOTHING MORE THAN 'REFLECTIONS',I TOOK THESE PIC.'S OUTSIDE WITH A LARGE TREE ABOVE ME AND THAT 'ALL MAPLE' FENDER BASS HAS A VERY SMOOTH 'DEEP' SOUND-- AS I LIKE IT,I'VE OWNED OTHER FENDER 'USA' BASS GUITARS & THEY HAVE 'NOTHING OVER ON THIS FENDER BASS' EXCEPT A SUPPER 'HIGH PRICE',,,THATS ABOUT IT,,I THANK YOU ALL FOR LOOKING______Peace & A GREAT BONUS ,I WON'T NEED IF SOLD ? !"

Verbatim "answer" from seller regarding the eBay price rationale:

Dear popoff999,
That bass new lists for $529 and a new case $150 - $200. Any retailer will sell that bass new for less than $350 and offer FREE shipping. What makes your bass so expensive? -LefThanDed

New message from: popoff999 (490Turquoise Star)
after 47 yrs. of playing & owning, about 185 guitars, making a few ,repairing many,Espiacally a 1962 hofner bass neck 1 of 63 in the 'usa' at the time, i KNOW QUALITY & just because this fine bass was built in a country where "LABOR"-for 1 thing is extremely low,--'NOT QUALITY',,This BASS IS BUILT FOR AND OVERSEEN BY FENDER CO. Experts & SPESIFICATIONS / SPEC.'S,,REMEMBER THE CRAP-CONSUMER PRODUCTS, THAT ARE BUILT IN THE UNITED STATES,BY OVERPAID,I'LL LEAVE THE REST TO HAVE 'YOU' THINK ABOUT IT!!.Thanks for your Question though

Funny, I also wrote him 3 days ago letting him know that the bass he was selling is a Squier called 70s Vintage Modified and they sell for $299 all over eBay.

Then, I asked what is so special about the case that it is worth $500...

Ok, I know I was ironical, but seriously? Is he taking us for complete idiots?

The answer I got was a copy of his ad...

....."IN MY 50 YEARS OF PLAYING".... so that puts him most likely in his 60's... you'd think by now he'd (1) know how to spell, (2) realize that NO-ONE LIKES PEOPLE WHO SHOUT THROUGH CAPS", (3)should have more common sense by now to know people aren't going to be fooled by his description/price analogy, and (4), is he a product of living on the Jersey Shore, in a town that seems to be losing people/population numbers (according to Wikipedia....)?!

Nothing against my lefty Jersey Brothers in this forum, but this guy is indeed smoking WAY too much of something, and I think it starts with "crack"... ;)
