Why do you think the price is so low? If I didn't just get the Mustang bass, I'd be all over this. I've always wanted a Ric but never got one cause they're readily available, so when the time came, I knew I could just get one. But this price? Wow!

There are deals out there on Rics. The one I just bought had an asking price that was far higher than what I paid. Sometimes, all you have to do is ask, which was lucky in my case. I paid somewhere in this ballpark for mine and it's brand new.

Agreed. Compound that with the fact that the market's really bad right now for sellers and you can get yourself a pretty good deal.

I recognize the seller . . . he's been offering his own assembled basses, mostly from Asian parts, but he does really good fret work and set up. His feedback is really good and eBay is pretty straight when it comes to claims; they usually are on the buyer's side. My guess is that he needs cash and is willing to take a hit.

I'd totally go for it if I was in the market for a Ric. Amazing how we went from not having any lefty Rics for years to having eBay flooded with them.

That's not taking THAT much of a hit; he's just realistic about what this bass might actually sell for and doesn't feel like listing it for months and months on end unsold due to asking too much like all the other Rics on ebay.

I coulda swore (99.9%) I saw this same bass for sale - for the exact same price as it's listed for -on one of the forums I hang out on, but I'll be damned if I can find it now. Goddamn NAMM hangovers last forever
