I just don't get that price for a 75. Even reduced it's still way overpriced!!!

This is literally why I can't get my head around why people are so fanatical about Fender products.

This isn't representative of all Fender stuff. Trust me I've owned a ton of them.

What I should have said is that I don't see the value of Fender instruments from the mid-70s to to the late 90s as being any greater than the instruments that they are producing today, which I have found to be far more consistent and better intended and built.

@bigevilrobot: I agree, I've never understood, the pricing of Fenders such as this. I could see the value being up there in a collector like a 1960 stack knob, but, case in point, I'm much happier spending that kind of money on a new F Bass that is a known, high quality instrument, than an old Fender with questionable mojo. But hey, that's me, and you, and tomdbass... and a few others it seems.

A 1960 lefty stack knob Jazz, if you could find one, would be in the $25-30k range. My 1960 lefty P bass which I sold in 1994, is currently valued at $15-20k. These are pretty much out of the reach of the average working musician and are usually bought today by top pros and wealthy collectors.

Agreed, I was referring primarily to the bass at the top of the thread and others like it, like bigevilrobot mentioned. Just don't see the "value".

@thumbslam: it looks like the neck plate is crooked. Might have something to do with that alignment (or the lack thereof) you mentioned.

There is much more going on here then just a neck misalignment. It looks to me like a bridge misalignment. I don't believe loosening the neck, shifting and retightening is going to fix this one.

...but what the hell.. I got 5k sitting around....... SCORE!!!!!!! :lol:
