Well maybe not half but close...

extra points for having both a fretter and a fretless neck.

They are killer basses and this one is beautiful for sure and two necks makes it more valuable but not new is just that and the price it will command will reflect it.

Some guys try for years to sell basses at a price that is way beyond the going rate and well more power to them and maybe it's just a thing where they would move it at said price and if they can't get it then they hold on to it. I've seen that here there and everywhere. I get that but for me if I'm going to take the time to take pictures and write up and post something I try to do it at a fair price and have it move along but each seller has his or her own right to ask whatever they want for sure. I would say though seeing a bass for sale over and over again from a seller makes me think even more there is an "issue" with it. FWIW

I had one of these..... exact same specs. The neck will give you tendinitis Its hard to play these basses but they are nice.

I really am not a fan of the angled pickup placement. If you string reverse (righty string/lefty play) then it makes more sence. I agree, the price listed is far from fair sellable price. 2 necks is nice but the asking price should be more like $2700 -> $3000 for all.

My old Jimmy Haslip supposedly sold at The Low End for $2000 with case (I traded it). It was mint and identical to this but orange quilt.

I traded my mint SKB3006 to Jim at Southpaw straight across for a brand new SR5 valued at about $1900...

For whatever reason, Roscoe falls into that group of boutique builders where resale generally isn't the greatest.

I'm not sure why... it has nothing to do with the basses... they make amazing stuff... they just don't generally have a great resale value.

...and now he's down to $3500. I have to say, this really isn't that great an idea. Swapping necks is not something I would want to do on any kind of a regular basis. It's a LOT of work and re-setting up the bass every time you do it would take major amounts of time. And unless the neck bolts were machine screws (unsure if Roscoe does that) the screw holes would eventually strip. Personally I would want that bass to either be fretted or fretless, period. No neck swapping.

Just my two cents.

And now down to $2995... which is actually not that bad of a price.

As far as swapping necks goes, a neat idea would be to install threaded inserts for the neck AND the bridge... that way you could also have a second bridge ready to go for the fretless neck, reducing setup time by a LOT, and not have to worry about stripping out any holes anywhere.

@ Addison: that IS a cool idea. Personally I wouldn't go through the effort though. I just want to grab a nice fretless (you know, like your Zon ) that's ready to go, same with my fretted.

Now his starting price is fair.....

Wouldn't another set of tuners for that fretless neck be around $200?

if you can get it right with no rattle, that'd be an awesome idea.

In English we would say worth 1/2 of the asking price, meaning that the asking price is twice as high as it should be. English has more exceptions than rules

Oh ok, I thought the asking price was the price the seller is asking instead of the price he wish he would sell it for.
