Never seen or even heard of that model. I wonder what the deal is with the cutout on the back. Kinda ruins it for me at that price point.

Im guessing that's a battery compartment. There's a righty on Gbase that says it belongs to Janis Ian (you know that famous bass player :) they are asking $4900 for it! http://www.gbase.com/gear/takamine-jani ... erry-stain Description states it has a tube preamp.(?)

There are way too many other things I would get before I bought that, but sheeeeeit... that thing looks/sounds killer.

The battery compartment appears to be below the built-in tuner in the preamp.
Which really does have a tube in it, by the way!

Maybe the cutout on the back is to easily access a sound post, like on an upright bass? On an upright, when you remove all strings at once, the sound post will fall out of place (it's not fixed) and needs to be repositioned. Maybe the TB-10 has a sound post too. Just guessing though!
