Beautiful build, and looks like electronics to rival an Alembic... although the middle picture/close-up of the body appears to show adjustment screws missing from the B and E intonation slides... that's why he's not asking $8000...

I love Fodera. If I had a money I'd totally get me one or two built to my specs. I think they are or the most part one of the finest basses you can buy, both in craftsmanship, playability and wood selection. Although they look and feel like $10K, you probably can get a bass built that -sounds- as good as any Fodera for around $3,000 or less from any of the smaller, lesser-known luthiers (Stambaugh, CB Basses, Skjold, and countless others).

Gladly for me, most 5-string Fodera that had become available here and there all weight more than 10 lb, which for me is an instant disqualifier. . .

Owning a Fodera is like owning a Porsche. You can probably do anything you need to do with a Mustang GT, but the Porsche will let you handle corners with a lot more finesse, and it'll make you look suave. Sadly, Foderas won't get you more chicks at gigs; on the contrary, girls usually dig beat-up Fender-type basses hung low.

Love that solo, Jules... so much fun. I find it especially awesome when they start screaming the most during the parts where you're just noodling and not doing anything particularly technical. That's a good lesson for us all... unless you're Jaco, flash is more important than technique to the womens!!



I also love that Fodera... and not just because it's a lefty. I truly think it's my favorite of any that I've ever seen. I just love the simplicity of it.

Anyway... what envelope filter are you using? It doesn't sound like any of your uneffected bass tone is blended in with the signal, but it still retains a very good bottom end.

haha - the funny thing IS that later on that evening me and my actual girlfriend (which had been in the crowd and we've had a back and forth over the last 9 month) decided that we need to have an official relationship ...that is lasting two months now ... keeping the fingers crossed

Thanks Chris - that is just the MXR M82 Envelope.... which I find is very hard to control on live volumes.... and I also had to buy a Compressor to reduce the BRUTAL high end which it produce when you slap ... I've ended up with the Diamond Bass Comp which has the BIG + point in having an EQ knob which can cut down some of the treble... I didn't want to spent that much money for a comp only to keep the Envelope civilized but it just beat all the other 5/6 comps in the shop.... also I find it sounding very smooth and musical so I like the Diamond
