Pricy but nice:

Maybe its the exchange rate that drives up the US$ price. I paid 1K for my 1K fretted about a year ago transaction all within the US.

Saw the same one at Guitar Showcase San Jose for $650 a few years ago. I still beat myself for not buying it.

Well, you could argue that G &L's are sorely undervalued in the vintage market (I would), and these don't pop up very often. But right now, with the additional $187 shipping charge to the US (and possible duties/taxes), you're looking at a bass that will cost you over $2150 to acquire from this guy. Personally, I'd put the value somewhere around $900-$1250 tops for someone willing to spend a bit more than market value due to it's rarity.

Doesn't hurt to shoot the guy an offer in that range and see if he bites. Hey, you never know.

Yeah I agree around a thousand or maybe a bit more is about the right price, and I also think they are undervalued.
