I was just watching the Hey Jude video and commenting how awesome it would be to play one of these. I'm glad the price is in the stratosphere (although probably reasonable for what it is) so there's no way in hell I could even consider it!

Wow - does anyone even know how many lefties of these they made? It has to be almost none.

For what it's worth, I played a Fender Japan reissue VI (upside down) on a recording a few years back and the Jones Longhorns sound much better IMHO. Nonetheless, this is guaranteed to appreciate in value like fine wine. It could help with that retirement fund down the road....

What is the scale length of the Longhorn?

I never pay attention to stuff like that at the time (I really should) so I had to look it up at the Jerry Jones site right now: it's 30"

Same as a Fender VI, 30".

I used to own a VI reissue from the 90s, it was very cool but I found I preferred my J.Jones Longhorn VI so I sold it. And I felt it looked silly upside-down. Of course right after selling it I saw a DVD of The Cure live and Perry Bamonte was playing one upside-down and it looked OK, oh well. Fender is coming out with a "Pawn Shop" version, doubt there'll be a lefty.

Speaking of The Beatles use, when we do our orchestra shows we play several tunes that employed the VI on the original recording. For these shows I play an SX bass I concerted to a VI. Looks close enuff and sounds/plays great.

Bridge is exactly like the one on my later-model J.Jones Longhorn VI.
