Wow, this is an amazing bass, I agree the refinish works well with the real aging of the neck. This bass should sell it has a very low opening bid.

There is a reserve. The opening bid is not $1495. Very nice looking Jazz. A refin takes near half off the overall value but this one is done very well.

Pretty easy to patch up before the refin, if the guy requested it.

The opening bid - $1495 - should be the reserve IMHO...

FYI to anyone interested in bidding on this bass, email the seller ASAP for a shipping quote.

He just got back to me with shipping from Australia to Canada being $755 for the bass.

Holly mackerel!!

I had a bass shipped from Australia ( my midi bass) and it was half the price if I remember correctly.

And oh yes, I'm in Canada too.....

Seems like a nice guy, but yes, definitely has an inflated view of what he's selling.

Like I said, the opening bid should have been the reserve. At least he knows he should get 2.5k for the bass.

I'd pay more with the original, worn, wrecked finish. Don't these people understand that when you refinish
an instrument like this it erases its' history?

Not always. In my case I got my '73 P for far less than I should have because the seller thought it would need a new paint job and to have the rusty parts replaced. :)
I happily play it as is.

This bass was relisted and sold for 3k plus $150 shipping...

So, I'm certainly missing my natural '72 Jazz with maple boards and square MOP inlays...
sold it for $200...

Actually the auction description says to ignore the $150 shipping cost and the buyer will pay actual shipping, so I expect the buyer is in for a much larger shipping cost than $150.
