Is this for real? Headstock is conveniently NOT in photo. Any idea? http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/msg/2994640974.html

Technically an EB3, since the SG model was never offered left handed. But from what I can see it looks legit. Most copies you see attempt to copy the pre-70's EB3 neck PUP position at the heel of the neck. This one's got the true 70's position. I'd get a headstock photo and possibly serial # ASAP from the guy if you can, and also find out if any other mods were done other than the Badass bridge (which should have required drilling) and the Schallers.

Thanks for your input PJ. I'm not a huge fan of Gibson basses (although I did own a new RD Artist that I bought in the late 70's and converted to lefty. That was a great sounding bass and one of the first to utilize active EQ) Just wanted to make sure no one got scammed.

Feel free to go for it. The price seems very reasonable if it is indeed what the seller claims. Good luck.

I never got a chance to see the original listing- can someone please elaborate in greater detail on the bass and what the price was? I'm assuming it's not the one that was on Ebay last week, since that seller was listed as being in L.A.? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... true&rt=nc

Are you sure you wanna know? ;)

It looked to be a legitimate '74 lefty EB3 with a Badass bridge and Schaller tuners added. There were no headstock photos or serial number indicated. The asking price was $650, which would have been a major steal if the bass were authenticated.
