Yep, that things been around a couple times now. Looks like a hondo II with an aftermarket neck to me.

Douche..... Someone should report him or some of us fill his inbox with "this is not a real Fender". His reply to me was "my dear, thanks for your help"... Then he pulls and re-lists it at a higher price?

I just 'asked a question' on this latest auction:

"Dear 47gauchoroy-us,

Are you aware that the body of this bass is not even a Fender, not American made and definitely not made in 77/78?

this is most likely a cheap Hondo body. Please represent this item correctly or this, and any subsequent listing of this bass will be reported as fraudulent.

Thanks!!"

We'll see how long before this one goes down...

Yeah, I reported the 2nd listing. This guy is either scum or a moron, I can't figure out which. Maybe both.

good job.... I reported when I first saw it and received his message. I would feel for the person that actually bought it even with his 7 day trial period.

I'm certainly no expert on Fenders, but the first thing I noticed is the string-thru ferrules on the back of the body. Fender wasn't installing them back then, were they? And even if it was a real 77-78, I don't believe the asking price would be justified simply because the "original pickguard" is damaged, and the original tuners have been replaced with, of all things, Gold Schaller tuners?! This guy is a scammer, trying to use the Fender name to prey on naive "victims"...

I hope eBay does the right thing, and bans this bass/auction....

Wow, this seller is a c*nt. I messaged him (or her I guess) politely saying that the bass was a fake and it was being reported. They replied "thanks my dear". Ha. I just replied "welcome honey" :|

I got the same 'my dear' crap:

"Dear arron36,

my dear arron36 i still learning thanks

- 47gauchoroy-us"

never mind not being a Fender, I don't believe there's even a bass.

C'mon lads! Let's get our torches and pitchforks and start demanding all basses are produced in left- and right-handed versions! Storm the castles!
