Damn! All these nice fantastic basses popping up all of a sudden. Roscoe, F Bass, Pedulla, Wal, Status Graphite, Ken Smith. In better times I probably would have bought a bunch like I used to, but not these days.

You are correct about the orientation of the headstock. That may be a right handed neck that George re-purposed. For shame. Check out the pic below.

A lot of folks feel the same as you do, I know lots of peeps who are trimming down the heard and getting rid of credit card debt.

Nice catch...

Other than aesthetics, it wouldn't really make a difference unless the neck was asymmetrical, correct?

Does anyone know what the standard neck profile is on an F Bass?

That would definitely be a bummer if the neck profile was literally designed for a righty and someone bought this bass and got screwed... :?

I just wanted to chime in here. I sold that bass originally to the seller (his name is Wayne, and he is a good dude!).

He wanted a lefty bass, strung righty! We can't all PLAY like Jimmy Haslip, but we can try to play LIKE Jimmy Haslip. :D

Anyway, he has a new F-Bass VF5 that is almost here, so he's selling the 6 to get some cash for the 5...

Anyway, just wanted to say that in spite of his 0 feedback on ebay, Wayne is a good guy, and that is one heck of a good bass!

It appears George used a right handed neck because the strings are righty. It still will string up lefty if needed but the headstock is indeed backwards. The neck profile on the F Basses kick butt! I owned one of the best BN5's and the neck was to die for. George doesn't mess around and the string spacing was 19mm on the 5ers. Not sure about the 6er but heard it was 18.3 at the bridge. If your already a reverse righty player, don't hesitate to snag this bass. They are perfectly balanced and killer!
