Given the scarcity of Rics out there, I can only shudder at what this will sell for!

I've never played a model 4000. wonder what they sound like?

I do't think so, it may reach $2000 but not much more. There have been quite a few lefty Rics on ebay.

^ True, but this isnt your typical Ric, it is a 4000 which is unusual even if it were right handed.

So it looks like it's routed for the front pickup. Seems you could buy a new pickguard and make it a 4001 without destroying the original setup. Anyone see any problems with that? The way it is now, I'll bet there's not much bottom in the tone, just mids and treble.

I don't know, I'm not a fan of the 4000 series look. It looks incomplete to me, like it needs more appointments, PUPs, knobs, etc. As George Carlin once said, "It looks like it's still in the larvae stage."

I see the auction ended and didn't even make it to it's reserve price. Rareness does not always equal worth.

I am a bit surprised especially with regular 4001s and 4003s going for over $2k sometimes. 4000s are generally considered collectable, I thought it would see some serious action. Oh well.
