Hey guys, this looks kinda nice:

Not sure about the neck dimensions or fingerboard radius.

Yeah I put a bid in on it but got outbid instantly. I'm sure it will go for more than I am ready to pay, but it does look sweet.

Any thoughts out there on what it might go for?

This is the first maple top lefty Epic I've seen, so I'd say it's pretty rare. The walnut topped ones are the only ones I've seen and they typically go for $1200-1500. I'd expect this one to go for no less than $1500.

Thanks for that. Keeping an eye on it for now to see how it goes. Interesting grain on the maple - friend of mine had a Wal with an Olive Ash top that looked exactly like this one. Rodent, do you have any thoughts on it?

It's up to $1,000 with over 4 days to go! I thought the 1200-1500 estimate sounded right, but it may go higher. Don't see too many lefty Alembics.

I paid $1000 on ebay for my Epic 5 lefty (maple top) about two years ago. With no other bids.

$1,425 was the high bid but didn't meet the reserve.

It was in very near mint condition when I got it (still is) the only thing I did to it was set it up for TI jazz flats & play away. I was really hankerin' for a passive fiver so I got the black Mike Lull PJ5 from Slybass3000 on this board. Excellent bass from an excellent guy to deal with. Now I've got an active & passive fivers so I think I'm set (maybe).

Flats on an Alembic? Interesting choice. I have a love/hate affair with Alembics, as I grew up a huge Stanley Clarke fan but hearing him now his sound is probably the last I'd want out of a bass. Flats might be the way to go to kill some of that thin bright top endy tone I associate with these.

Yeah the flats took a lot of the bite off it. It's got a pretty fat warm tone for an active. Plus the TIs are the best strings known to man, IMO.

TIs and I don't get along, unfortunately. I tried to like 'em, but they were too loose for my taste on my P. However, I took them off the P in exchange for D'Addario Chromes and put the TIs on my Tele bass, which is string thru. They were perfect for that bass.

Had this shown up around the time I was looking to buy a Ric I would have bought this in a snap. I'll get an Alembic one of these days...
