And they're calling it a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, and according to the description it's finished in natural
Nice though, and the price seems right if the shipping costs aren't too steep. It's from Ishibashi, they usually charge just over 16000 Yen shipping costs for international shipping.

In their U-box (used items pages on their site) is currently an all-black JB75-US/LH with rosewood board. You can find it by typing 'lh' in the search bar at the far left here: http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/u_box/e/

The all black then still equates to 810 euro incl shipping... +19% VAT and 4% custom fees = close to €1000... I'll wait for BBL's reply in the mean time! ;)

This bass sold today for 700$...

And I'm the one who bought it! :)

Eitherway the description was wrong, I contacted them and they had no idea how the description got on there...

As soon as I get it I'll put a Badass 2 on it and i'll highly likely get the paint chip fixed asap as well..!

/happy camper mode ;)

Congrats!
I'd like to know about the condition of the frets when you get it. The description said something like "60-70%" of useable fretlife, or some such.

Yea I read that as well, if its in poor condition I'll refret it, same with the hardware being 'dull' I dont know whether they mean the PUs or just the pots are worn..

Also a bit strange, they posted the bass is from '99-'02, but I checked the serial and it says its from 93-94.. I hope the latter as I've heard they are supposedly better...

Pups might also be replaced if im not satisfied with sound etc. ;)

Eitherway, I'll let you guys know as soon as I get it in weeks time... Got to love Dutch customs!

Yes, I'd love to hear how you like it. I changed out the tuners and bridge on mine for Hipshot HB-2's and a BT-2 and a BadAss II, but I left all the electronics in place. The pickups in mine sound nicely balanced and powerful, with a nice agressive sizzle to them.

Jeroen, would you be into writing a review of this bass for the review section here? Then Nilezd could add his review to yours.

I'd love to see the review forum get used more for comprehensive reviews. Given how much we all need to buy basses online without playing them first I feel like the Review forum could become a valuable asset to people considering certain models of basses, and given some of the most prolific collectors of lefty basses who are actively online are here, I think this is the group of guys most qualified to offer valuable reviews of instruments.

Sure, with pleasure. I'll get into it when I have the time (it's too late now, I'm about to go to bed) :)
And this is definitely a bass you can usually only order without playing it, as these aren't officially available outside Japan, so a review might be very helpful for those considering buying one.

I'll have a go at it as well as soon as I get it ;)

Will probably be somewhere after our fall holiday (25 oct - 03 nov) on which I am actually off to some hot and sizzly country in Africa ;)

Worst case scenario is that it arrives when I'm on holiday so I'll have to go pick it up at either the depot or postoffice...

I find waiting utterly annoying!

Turns out they provided me the wrong tracking number... LOL :P

Well it's at customs in NL now, and that means I'll get it soon. Or within two weeks. Bummer.

If it comes with standard TNT Post, it may well take over a week. They're painfully slow with customs. They may even send you a form first to declare your bass, in which case you'll be asked to provide the PayPal receipt. After you sent the form back, it will still take over a week, so I've experienced :x
If it comes with UPS or DHL you may have it much faster. They handle their customs affairs much more quickly.
