Same seller as the Vox bass listed here. Action on this one is high on this one as well.

As if Gibson headstocks weren't fragile enough. "Let's make it slotted too."

I understand they also offered long scale versions of these basses as well at the time. Anyone ever seen a lefty? I could warm up to a long scale EB3 (I'd store it with a boxing glove on the headstock when not using it). :D

In 1982 I mailed (old school letter) Gibson about my Les Paul asking what year it was based on the SN and they sent me a letter back and said it could be 70 or 71 however if Made in USA is stamped in the headstock it's a 71. I assume the same for this bass, I know they say Circa 71 so that would be 71 as the min year.

Yes PJ, I have seen one... ;)

I've had it for many, many years. Wonderful bass too, plays like a dream. Short scale EB3 is nice, but I do prefer the long scale version.

I've never seen another lefty long scale slotted head. But since all lefty basses from the 60's-70's era of Gibson were custom orders, there's really no way of knowing exactly what might be out there... until something just randomly appears out of someone's closet.

Back in the day I was on a quest to try to acquire any vintage lefty Gibby bass I encountered, and I have seen a couple other lefty short scale slot heads but missed out on them. I'd love to snag that one off Reverb ... but I don't think that I can talk myself into it.

Awesome!

See, this is how we flush you out of hiding, Carmine. All I have to do is make the statement, "Gee, I've never seen a lefty..." and out comes the eye candy.
