Super duper rare and, IMO, these basses are still relatively undervalued on the market. They really are fantastic instruments (though a little complicated to figure out the electronics at first, and the wide C neck is also unique to these), and one of Fender's first ventures into active basses with some high end proprietary appointments (bridge, tuners, etc).

Someone should jump on this. If you can handle the neck width, these are fantastic instruments: one of the best CBS ever came up with. I'd buy it if it was 15 years ago and I was still playing out every week. They did make a small run of lefties and you see one turn up every few years or so. When they were first made, they were all in black so this "refinish" is the first one I've seen that isn't.

They were offered in natural too. (as well as sunburst and vintage white). But I've only seen lefties in black too. Here's a sound demo with a natural:

And here's a copy of the original manual explaining the specs. As I mentioned, virtually everything about these basses was unique and proprietary at the time, making it difficult to find replacement parts if you need them:
