I was in a band once with a guitarist who used an aluminum neck Kramer. If we had a gig in winter and had to drive a long way, it got cold enough in the back of the van that he would have to warm the neck with a blow dryer about a half-hour before we took the stage.
Tryed a lefty bass out once and it sounded great though. A cross between traditional P-bass and John Taylor-esque active.
