I contacted the seller. He claims this bass weighs 14 lbs.

Maybe that's with the bass in the case? I can see that coming in around 16 - 18 lbs.

I own three basses that weight 11-12lbs... my Carvin SB5000; my Ibanez ATK305L; my '78 Fender P-bass... the only other basses I've heard about that approaches the 14-lb range are Alembics...

Feel free to contact the seller yourself. This was his response to my inquiry about the weight of the bass.
I know it's hard to believe. Maybe he's got his thumb on the scale.
