Hi all, I've been meaning to post this for a week or so. There's a black 5 string Stingray at my Beaverton Oregon GC. They did not list it properly, so it doesn't show as a lefty. Go figure... anyway, I had a quick noodle on it acoustically, and I didn't see any obvious issues. I suck at 5 string, so could not justify the purchase. I didn't plug it in, so didn't give it the full check. Visually, nothing odd apart from the old barcode on the back of the body, sealed under a large adhesive sheet... weird. It was tough to walk away, as I've wanted a Stingray ever since I fell in love with Fugazi all those years ago.....

I want a black SR5. And I’m only down in Eugene, but I’m sooo tapped out right now.

Quick update. I was at my local GC yesterday (had to get out and about), and it's still there. I plugged it in this time, and it plays well. No obvious oddness. The pots may benefit from a bit of deoxit, as they are not as smooth as they could be, but all in all, it's pretty cool. Luckily I suck at 5 string, and of course it's a tad hefty (I trapped a nerve in my neck recently, and after much physio I'm ok, but heavy hitters are out), so I had to put it back.... if it was closer to $1000 I'd have to have a serious conversation with myself :D

Remember for Guitar Center if you did purchase on line they could ship to your local store for Pick Up.
