I didn't think there was such a thing. I have always wondered how they would sound with split coils, but I don't know if those pickups can support that. I know there is no split-coil setting with the stock wiring.

There wasn't, until some time in the last few days. This has kinda been my white whale, to the point I considered hacking one together myself from parts. But now I've got all the basses already. Ugh!

Regarding split coils, this is an older version of the schematic, but I think the 5-way switch still works this way. Is that what you meant by split-coil settings?

I never saw that the burnt amber one was available, but it's the first one I noticed. Unlike the picture, though, the one that Sweetwater is listing has a rosewood board.

The black/maple is available, though:

This is legitimately killing me right now.

 That is exactly what I meant! Oh, man. This is so cool. I didn't realize they were wired this way. Now I can do some digging to see how that sounds! I am sure there are plenty of demos.

I am really excited to see this. Either I improve my sound and finally become a StingRay fan, or I don't spend any money. Either way, a long mystery will be solved!

If this bass goes out of stock this evening, you will know why. :D

Part of me hopes someone will scoop it up!

I used to play the righty HH at the GC near my in-laws whenever I would visit. Perfect neck and sounded good to me in every switch position (which is why I've never settled for a single-pickup Stingray). I never, ever thought they would offer a lefty.

Thanks! It's so nice. Perfect neck, perfect setup. Sounds great in all five switch positions, and super quiet to boot. I can't wait to properly break in these strings and get the zing out of it.

...Then I have to pick another bass to put on the block.
