Beautiful!
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Olympic White a pretty pure white? That looks much more like a buttery kind of color. Don't get me wrong; I think it looks great, especially against the white pickguard, but if I am right, that bass may not have seen many gigs, but it had seen plenty of sun.

Olympic white has a little yellow to it. Arctic white is more of a bright white

Hard to believe that 98 was 22 years ago but it could be due to aging. This bass has a great look to it, I found alot of junk but also some good reading on the topic here https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=22113

Yep that clear coat definitely shows some aging. Looks cool but the price is silly

I just have to say this, and it is not directed at this auction
or any others for MIM Fender Standard Jazz basses. I just
think that it is kind of funny (ironic).
My wife bought me a Sunburst finish MIM Jazz bass in 1999.
The bass serial number dates it to 1998 and it was purchased
from American Musical Supply, new. I still have the catalog!

The price- $179.99 with a $35.00 up-charge for the three
color sunburst.

Too funny! At least to me.

The $179 price was good, I think generally they were about $250 -$300 but point taken although it's 2-+ years and never touched its still Fender Mexico. I also agree nothing against the MIM series, some of them have been awesome basses but like any lower cost bass, it's great if you can play it as some are great and some......... not so great.
